focused on Glory...Unchanging Beauty

Quick post tonight, as my internet's been sketchy all evening, and I'm about to fall asleep at my keyboard. :)

I love these virtually unedited pictures of the azaleas at my mom's last week.  There have been azaleas in these flower beds for as long as I can remember.  I remember taking Easter pictures in front of these azaleas when I was quite young. I remember helping my grandmother pick out a few new plants when some of the originals were killed by storms.   Now they are my mom's azaleas, and we take pictures of my children in front of the azaleas.  They are a constant, unchanging sign of spring.

But as much of a constant as those azaleas are in my life, they aren't truly unchanging.  Storms, disease, or even just the whim of the caretaker could cause them to die or disappear at any time.  While I have nearly 40 years of memories of azaleas in those beds, they could be gone tomorrow.
God, however, is truly unchanging.  I remember a song from way back in the 70s, by Eve (remember Eve?!)..."Praise the Lord, He never changes.  He's never any other way. And He'll be the same tomorrow as He was and is today."  Such a simple little song, but so true.  I'm so thankful for that truth!  God's unchanging character is glorious indeed!

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."  ~ Hebrews 13:8

Oh, I remember the azaleas in front of Granny Kitty's/your/Miss Judy's house. :)
