"No More Night"

I woke up this morning with the words to this song running through my head...a friend had posted a line from it on Facebook the other day, and I guess it's been in the back of my mind ever since.

Four years ago tonight we were spending our last few hours with my dad, and because it was also dress rehearsal night for our Christmas musical that year, musical week always brings back a flood of memories. I've been *remembering* all weekend, and realizing that today's anniversary was coming, but when this song began playing in my mind this morning, I hadn't even consciously thought about the date or its significance yet today. God is so good to give us what we need, even before we realize we need it.

"No more night,
No more pain,
No more tears,
Never crying again...
And praises to the Great I AM,
We will live in the light of the Risen Lamb
."

~Walt Harrah

I'm reminded of Bro. Kent's preaching from Revelation on Sunday nights lately. How awesome to think that the curse will be gone, and evil "banished to eternal hell." I've always loved the thought of the music in Heaven...singing constant praise to the King. Since we've been going through Revelation recently, though, one of the things that has thrilled me most to think about Heaven is the fact that there will be no sun, for Heaven will be illuminated by God Himself. We will truly "live in the light of the Risen Lamb."

And there shall no longer be any night; and they shall not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God shall illumine them; and they shall reign forever and ever. (Revelation 22:5)

Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope.
We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.
According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.
For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

Therefore encourage each other with these words.

~1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18

What a good picture of your Dad! I look forward to seeing him again someday in the light of the SON. Good song, too, and I'm glad God gave it to you on a day you needed it. Love-K
